Our procurement business is headquartered in our West Los Angeles office. Our staff work with Fortune 500 companies, local and state governments and major universities. Our team of analysts and editors are responsible for collecting and presenting our research in digestible reports so our clients can make informed decisions regarding product and service pricing, vendor selection and other issues affecting procurement professionals.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The core function of the “SME” role will be supporting the DCVR in the delivery and realization of client value across our key account portfolio, with an emphasis on establishing credibility and delivering best in class performance and experiences for our clients. The SME will serve as an expert and advocate, working directly with clients to create, implement, and monitor strategies to clearly demonstrate ROI for clients. 

The primary focus will be placed on key accounts, creating and executing a strategy that will put clients in the best position to renew. You will also work closely with client service management, and staff to improve our ability to understand client problems and provide application assistance to solve these client problems. 

SMEs will support Sales by attending RFP-focused client meetings and late-stage key account deals, to ensure alignment of our product and the expectations of our new client. SMEs will also liaise with the research department to share trends, product enhancements and feedback, for our existing product and how it can better meet the needs of procurement professionals.

 

KEY DUTIES

·       Retain a book of business comprising yellow/red flag and new key accounts

·       Create, conduct and lead onboarding and implementation plans for newly acquired key accounts

·       Lead trainings with clients focused on “how to” use cases and applications of Market Intelligence

·       Lead quarterly business reviews with key accounts

·       Prepare research and tailored 1:1 coaching and advice for clients, particularly Sourcing/Category Managers

·       Support quarterly trainings with Sales & Client Services staff on topical procurement trends/themes

·       Work in Salesforce to document progress on all initiatives

·       Become a power-user of ProcurementIQ and upskill industry knowledge regularly on market dynamics

·       Independently solve problems and make decisions for strategic execution and tactical issues within your book of work

·       Collaborate with management and staff to ensure a positive client experience

 

TARGETS/EXPECTATIONS

·       Complete all ROI deliverables to standard

·       Complete all bespoke implementation plans on time and to standard

·       Improve/maintain client sentiment score

·       Attend regular in-person meetings in our LA office

·       Travel to clients’ onsite facilities for as necessary, approx. 10% of time

·       Attend conferences when appropriate and in support of growth and development

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

·       6+ years within Procurement and/or Supply Chain, serving as a Sourcing or Category Manager

·       Proven experience applying Market Intelligence and global market analysis to category and sourcing strategies

·       Procurement transformation experience

·       Strong knowledge of supplier relationship management, ‘should-cost’ models, and multi-year strategies

·       Knowledge of business ethics and Ethical Sourcing Requirements

·       Ability to lead and influence at peer group, leadership and C-suite level

·       Proven track record of negotiations that result in cost savings, contingency planning and risk avoidance

·       Experience with process improvement and supplier continuous improvement programs

·       Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership methodology (TCO)

·       Strong experience with MS Office Suite, Ariba, Coupa and others

·       Familiarity with financial terminology and savings definitions for driving enterprise value

·       Experience managing and influencing stakeholders

·       Proven experience managing multiple projects with competing timelines and priorities

·       Familiarity with distributor/supplier dynamics and business models

·       Experience delivering solutions within client-facing roles is a plus

·       Experience working with a COE team is a plus

·       Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices a plus

 

COMPENSATION: 120-140K
